We will also provide safety tips for each technique. These are important to remember if you find yourself out plowing, or in a situation where your plow is not functioning properly. Using one of these methods will allow you to lift your plow off the ground enough to get it back to a shop or dealer nearby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"How to Short Chain Your Plow\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/v3xhUjgpTdk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Top Three Techniques:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Drive the Plow into a Snowbank:<\/strong> This is the first technique shown in the video. To begin you want to drive the truck into a snowbank, which lifts the plow off the ground. You will then shorten the chains on both sides of the plow. Then slowly drive out of the bank, and your plow will be lifted enough to drive it to a shop or dealer nearby.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Use a Jack:<\/strong> This is the second technique shown in the video. You will place a bottle jack, or any other car jack under the plow and lift it up. Then shorten the chains on both sides of the plow. Finally, release and lower the jack, and your plow should be lifted enough to drive it to a shop or dealer nearby.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Use an Overhead Object:<\/strong> This is the third technique discussed in the video. You can tie a rope or chain to an overhead object and lift the plow up. The driver then shortens the chains on both sides of the plow. This is the final way to get your plow lifted enough to drive it to a shop or dealer nearby. Other methods are preferred before attempting this method.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Safety Tips<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Always wear protective gear while working on your plow.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be careful of where you are putting your fingers.
